Nancy Rosario Rodriguez, Assistant Director of the Center for Educational Partnerships, was recently awarded a $500,000 grant from Ruben Diaz, Bronx Borough President.
The grant will fund a new schoolyard for M.S. 331, a Fordham Community School located in the Bronx. “Community Schools are neighborhood hubs where students receive high-quality academic instruction, families can access social services, and communities congregate to share resources and address their common challenges.”
Through the Community Schools program, Fordham and the Center for Educational Partnerships has worked with public schools in the Bronx to provide academic, social, and mental health services to students and families. This includes on-site bilingual social workers, education specialists and coaches, mental health providers, and extended day care.
