Fordham GSE and the Center for Educational Partnerships (CEP) recently hosted a group of undergraduate elementary education students and faculty members from Blanquerna University, a Jesuit university in Barcelona, Spain.
The group visited a Brooklyn public school receiving services from CEP’s NYS/NYC Regional Bilingual Education Resource Network, then attended the Centennial lecture given by New York City Department of Education Chancellor Carmen Fariña. Later in the week, they met with the CEP to learn about their three partner schools in NYCDOE’s Community Schools program. Dr. Anita Vasquez and the three Fordham Community Schools Directors presented on various topics, including expanding learning time, community linkages, mental health, and instructional support.
