School shootings across the nation have prompted a critical need for social and emotional training for teachers, says Marilyn Bisberg, GSE clinical instructor, advisor and early childhood education specialist in the Graduate School of Education. After Bisberg heard from one of her students about this very issue, she took action to infuse learning about how best to protect children and teachers in the classroom into curriculum and teaching coursework.
