Celebrating GSE’s Linda Negron at the 2025 University Convocation

0

Fordham’s Annual 2025 University Convocation, held on Sunday, March 9, celebrated many, including Linda Negron, executive secretary in the Educational Leadership, Administration, and Policy (ELAP) division at Fordham Graduate School of Education (GSE). Negron was recognized with the 1841 award, honoring her 20 years of service as a staff member at Fordham. All of these years have been spent with the ELAP division.

Negron is a positive force in Fordham’s ELAP division. Throughout her time at Fordham, Linda has always maintained an upbeat demeanor with all she encounters, particularly when patiently guiding graduate students and faculty through changing systems and rules. She is generous with her time in working with others and supporting endeavors across divisions.

As a Fordham employee, Linda earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2017. Both of her children attended Fordham, and sometimes were in the same classes as Linda. Her son earned his degree in 2020, and her daughter completed three years of study. Linda, her children, and her two grandchildren, ages 2 and 4, reside in New York City. In her free time, Linda enjoys oil painting, spending time with her grandchildren, and going to the theatre.

Fordham’s annual University Convocation is held each spring to honor Fordham employees who are celebrating their 20, 40, and 60 year anniversaries with the University. In recognizing their commitment to Fordham, faculty members receive the Bene Merenti award, administrators receive the Archbishop Hughes award and staff receive the 1841 award. Each award recipient receives a medal, alongside colleagues, family, and friends.
