Steven Cheeseman, Ph.D., a long-time adjunct professor at Fordham University’s Graduate School of Education, has been appointed President and CEO of the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA). Having spent over 30 years in Catholic education, Cheeseman has been dedicated to helping students recognize their potential while honoring their individual gifts.

Cheeseman reflects on his time at Fordham, saying:

“I am so fortunate to be part of the Fordham community and have the opportunity to meet so many incredible people—whether they be veteran experts in their field or rising stars just starting out in administration. To collaborate and spend time with people who see the work we do as a ministry for others and who really live the charism of our Jesuit Identity focused on the whole person as a ‘gift’ has truly been a blessing.”

Since joining Fordham in 2009, Cheeseman has taught courses covering everything from school law and strategic planning to leadership and professional development. As he takes on this new leadership role, his experience and vision are expected to provide meaningful support to Catholic schools nationwide, offering a strong voice for their continued growth and success.

Cheeseman’s contributions to education have been and continue to be significant, and his leadership at the national level is expected to make a lasting impact.
