Sandra Montanez-Diodonet, Ed.D., a recent graduate of Fordham’s Graduate School of Education and an adjunct faculty member, has been named the 2025 Superintendent of the Year for Passaic County, New Jersey.

The honor came after nominations from three fellow superintendents. In an email to Fordham faculty, Montanez-Diodonet credited her doctoral training for playing a key role in the recognition.

“This achievement would not have been possible without the foundation of knowledge and research skills that each of you instilled in me during my time at Fordham,” she wrote. “Your work has been instrumental in my professional development and directly contributed to this recognition.”

Montanez-Diodonet serves as superintendent of Passaic Public Schools, where she leads one of the most diverse school districts in the state.
