GSE Graduate Tapped for Key Position in Westchester Co., NY School District

Celia Goodman Strino, who earned her Master of Science in Education Administration & Supervision from Fordham University’s Graduate School of Education (GSE) in 2017, has been appointed as the Committee on Special Education (CSE) Chairperson/Supervisor of Special Services position for the Pocantico Hills Central School District in Pocantico Hills, NY.

Strino worked in a variety of roles in higher education prior to being chosen for this position, including in Special Education Compliance & Instructional Leadership for the New York City Department of Education (NYC DOE) and as Adjunct Professor at Fordham Law School.

“Throughout the accelerated one-year masters program, GSE Educational Leadership and Policy (ELAP) professors provided a highly practical, balanced approach to learning,” noted Strino. “The education I received and the skills I learned helped provide a smooth transition into my internship at NYC’s Bronx Envision Academy District 12, and have prepared me extremely well for this newest opportunity to serve as CSE Chairperson/Supervisor of Special Services. I particularly want to thank Drs. Jacqueline Gonzalez and Shannon Waite, Internship Advisor Mr. Terrence O’Connor, and Ms. Nilda Rivera who was my Council of School Supervisors and Administrators (CSA) mentor, for their support during the masters program.”
