Eighty thousand eighth graders a year participate in New York City’s high school application match process. Adopted in 2003, the process seeks to maximize student choice and access to schools.
This conference will focus exclusively on the City’s high school admissions procedure. Participants will examine:
- issues of educational equity and diversity;
- the challenges faced by students, families, service providers, and educators in navigating the process; and
- the opportunities for systemic reforms, practice improvements, and best practices.
